Kyoto Microcomputer joins Eclipse Foundation as an Add-in Provider.
For immediate release:
Kyoto Japan, January 24, 2006:
Embedded Linux debugging system and JTAG ICE specialist Kyoto Microcomputer (KMC) today announced that KMC becomes an Add-in Provider member of Eclipse Foundation. The Eclipse is fast-populating IDE (Integrated Development Environment) used by world wide developers. We will keep going to support the Eclipse to use it with KMC's flagship high speed JTAG ICE: PARTNER-Jet. KMC will also release a new version 5 of the PARTNER debugger software for PARTNER-Jet which enhances its user interface and Eclipse support in the spring 2006.
KMC has been working with the Eclipse and released the "Eclipse for PARTNER Cross DevKit" in July 2005, a missing link for Eclipse to use KMC's flag-ship JTAG ICE product PARTNER-Jet series (
http://www.kmckk.co.jp/eng/eclipse.html .) It allows users to use the Eclipse for integrated development and debugging of embedded target boards via JTAG interface.
The Eclipse is an open source versatile IDE (Integrated Development Environment) developed by Eclipse Foundation
http://www.eclipse.org/ and related open source community worldwide. It has several features for large-scale development tasks and fits both small and large development teams. It supports version control system (VCS) repository access, automatic expansion of method name, visual diff, debugger with graphical user interface and plug-ins.
KMC will release the PARTNER version 5 in the spring 2006. It will offer several enhancements including large-scale software development and user-customizable user interface. It also enhances Eclipse, working together to support real-time trace and other debugging features which the Eclipse never had.
"We are honored to have Kyoto Microcomputer join the Eclipse Foundation as an Add-in Provider," said Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation. "Eclipse is well established as the tools platform for embedded developers. We are excited to have their participation in our community."
Shoji Ueda, Director of Strategic Marketing of KMC said "The participation to Eclipse Foundation of KMC as an Add-in Provider is the first step to promote the Eclipse so that it can be used as a part of embedded development environment. It will also be a chance to send the opinion of Japanese embedded developers to the whole world."
The PARTNER-Jet is KMC's flagship high speed JTAG ICE which can debug target boards even with multi-core processor just with single JTAG connection.
